friday night joan ellen is having a family meeting and i am not going -but i forget all the important questions for steve to ask....mare- bare do you have any advice or questions that might be helpful????
Is this about his mom's estate? I remember us talking about it, but don't remember all the details... Is the house empty? If so, ask about insurance on the house, most times insurance doesn't cover empty houses.
How does she plan on disposing of all the stuff, he could recommend a family auction like we did, I think that was a really fair way of divvying things up.
Did he get a copy of the will? if not, he should
Is there a lawyer? What is their name?
Has the will been admitted to probate? Have Letters Testamentary been issued?
Does JoanEllen need any help (she may appreciate this one, because it can be very overwhelming - I know this from experience).
Will an appraisal be done on the house?
I will add more if I think of it - anyone else want to contibute to this???
thanks alot, this web site is packed w/lots of info.. its sounds so complicated for sure, thanks for all your input- i'll keep you posted as to how it goes. he didnt get a copy of the will, i dont think it was ever probated.. the suggestion for someone to help out is good, if she'll accept..

Mare - you are the legal eagle!! I can't think of anything else.
Eileen, tell Steve our thoughts are with him - not an easy time.
