For Once in My Life - I have GOOD LUCK - I can't believe it... my planets are all aligned, life is good.

It is so hot here in Dallas. Our air conditioner stopped working last night - and it was misrable. Larry is supposed to come and fix it today - I sure hope he shows up!

The good news is - the pool is all painted and filled with water. We are still having problems with the pumps, but we are praying that they last through the season. Robert painted with genuine pool paint and it looks great, but it is very slippery, especially going down the steps into the water. Robert nearly broke his neck getting in yesterday. I warned him, yelling "watchout its slippery" as he was falling head over heels into the water. The water did break the fall - but it scared me to death.

I sold the Mazda to Carmax, which is great - Michael is now using the Trailblazer and Robert and I are loving our Amanti's - we feel truly blessed, driving around in luxury.

My puppies are doing good, they are fat and healthy. They turned 3 weeks old yesterday. I had a luncheon at my house yesterday and it turned out GREAT. My house looks wonderful - or maybe I should say "as good as it can get." I turned my dining room into my office and moved the dining room table by the back door so that you overlook the pool when you eat. It gives it a much nicer atmosphere. We cleaned out the spare room - what a chore. I had to reposition all of our stuff and I managed not to throw too much away. I bought the paint, its called Sanctuary Rose, its a flat pinkish mauve - I can't wait to paint. Last week I had all of the shelves in that room removed. I had some wall damage, but not too much. I was able to patch it all up, with the help of Michael.

THEN... I bought furniture on Craig's List. You wouldn't believe how nice my new furniture is - it is absolutely gorgeous. It all worked out so great. The people I bought it from lived about 2 miles from our house, they were an older couple who had an immaculate house, it looked like a model home. The furniture is probably 25 years old, all solid walnut - I mean solid - you can tell that it is high quality. I got a full size bed, the frame has pineapple posters (I love pineapple posters) - the posters are not high, its just a nice size for that room. A spotless clean mattress and box spring that looks really comfortable. Next, I got an armoir, its not that big, maybe 4 or 5 feet tall, and a matching night stand - all for the grand total of $400!! What a deal. The mattress and box spring would easily have cost that much and I probably would not have gotten the quality. All in all, my first Craig's List transaction was great! My furniture does not have a scratch on it - it is perfect and is going to look so good in the room. I will soon be ready for guests, sign up now - I know there is going to be a waiting list. I will take pictures once I have my room put together - ooooo its going to be nice.

What else.... I have so much going on, and for once in my life, its all GOOD. I know I am going to jinx myself, but the moons are aligned for me right now and its so exciting. Normally I feel like I have a black cloud over my head - and I'm sure it could rain on me at any time. But right now, its great having things go my way - I could learn to live this way forever.

Next good news... I was fretting over my upcoming flight to NJ because my plane leaves DFW at 5:30 AM - crap, I was freaking out over that - its like an hour drive to the airport, I always trigger the security alarm because of the metal in my hips, sometimes they have to do a female assist and that takes extra time - what time do I need to be at the airport. Robert Jones went to Canada a month or so ago and he got to the airport at 3:00 AM and he said it took 2 hours to get through security. Should I sleep at the airport - what if I miss my flight - oh my oh my.... Well, I love Priceline.com - so, I just went and bid on a 3-1/2 star hotel at the Airport for $50. My bid was accepted and I am staying at the Grand Sheridan out at DFW. I can park my car there for free... they will drive me to my gate and pick me up when I get back. I can go to the hotel right after work and then be at the airport the next morning - how great is that??

With all of my good luck, I should head over to Neimans - I bet they have a perfect dress for me to wear to the wedding on the last call rack, in just my size, that will make me look gorgeous!!

Good luck is prevailing...

Robert just called. Larry fixed the air conditioner and he did NOT charge us a dime.. this is freaky!! in a good way, of course!

BTW, I named my boy puppy "Rocky." His name will be Romajo's Rock-a-bye Babe. The little girl is "Romajo's I'm a Survivor." Ronny is calling her Reba. They are so precious. I will post pictures soon.

wow - it all sounds so marvelous! I am signing up for a night in the guest room - when will it be done?? I love rose colored walls - or did you say "mauve" - whichever, love them both!!!

and the hotel at the airport sounds like a good plan - make sure you have a wake up call scheduled so that you don't oversleep!! i will be leaving my house at 5:30 am (4:30 your time) so I could ring you up to make sure you get on your way....

just a little over 2 weeks to go...I got some new sheets, yellow in color, i will wash them today and then pack them for our OGBH suite, i have started packing the towels and toiletries - don't want to forget anything...still haven't decided what to wear to the wedding...so much to dream about...

The guest room should be ready by next week - I have to paint, buy bedding, and hang the curtains.

When can you come??? I will also serve you breakfast in bed, and as the bonus winner, being the first guest, you will also receive a FREE tickle back from mwa.

I think Kyla will be here on August 7th, so, after that, you have to share the comfy bed with her - but she shouldn't take up that much room, she looks tiny.

I'm loving it! The room sounds great and I'm gonna beat out Kathy as the first guest! I want to come this weekend and get the free upgrade to back tickling. Post some pictures!!

Hey, I love your idea of the priceline hotel - so I'm going to try it, too. My plane leaves around 5:30 am, too - and I'm scared I will miss it. I hope good luck prevails for me, too! Otherwise what time would I leave for the airport? 3am? or is that too late?? Geesh! I'm such an inexperienced traveler.

I am such a copy cat, I started my packing, too! I'm not bringing much since we have a washer and dryer at our house. I'll just wear the same clothes over and over. They can be my NJ uniform.

It's almost here!!

One time when I was at band camp... let me start over

One time when I was working in Austin... I went to Priceline and bid $40 for a hotel by the airport and they put me up at the round Hyatt, it was really nice. If you do bid, bid for 3-1/2 stars, $50. Mostly all of the 3-1/2 stars have the free parking and free shuttle service. I am saving more money staying at the hotel then I would if I had to pay to part my car at the airport while we were gone. I think it will be far less stressful for you.

I still don't know if I can bring my curling iron - does anyone know if curling irons are allowed in carryons?

Last night I cleaned out the closet in the middle room - I haven't started to paint yet, maybe tonight....

Can't wait to tickle your back!
